One Mile Up, Denver Delights
Clay also says exploring downtown Denver and its surrounding neighborhoods, each with its own unique vibe, is worth the trip to the Rockies.
When it comes to great American cities, Denver stands out above all the rest. High above the rest.
The Mile High City is that perfect mixture of charming Old West, stunning natural surroundings and modern sensibilities.
Clay Perry, Corporate Sales Manager for Visit Denver says, “Denver is warm, welcoming, energetic and vibrant. We have something for everyone, including the outdoors, the arts, beer and sports.”
One downtown destination not to miss is the renovated 1914 Beaux-Arts design Denver Union Train Station, full of restaurants, bars, boutique shops and the luxury accommodations of the Crawford Hotel.
The American Museum of Western Art is another “must see” with over 600 paintings, drawings and sculptures of the American West.
The downtown Colorado Convention Center is an outstanding event space, with a 600,000-square-foot exhibition hall, 100,000 square feet of meeting rooms and an 85,000-square-foot ballroom. And visitors will never forget the fabulous 40-foot blue bear sculpture that peers into the convention center for a glimpse of what’s going on inside.
There are also 8,700 hotel rooms within easy walking distance of the convention center.
For beer fans, Coors’ facility, the biggest brewery in the world, is in nearby Golden, Colorado. And Denver is home to a host of exciting micro-breweries to check out.
Be forewarned, Denver’s air is crisp, clean and thin. So you’ll want to take Clay’s advice and hydrate for a couple of days before arriving and for the first day that you’re in Denver.
Bill Lynch, NHS Global Events President, also notes, “Denver offers a great value for air travel. It is a very competitive market with many large carriers and discount carriers flying in and out of the Denver area airports.” To learn more about booking your next event in the Mile High City, check in with us at NHS Global Events.
