Omni Works to Say Goodnight to Hunger
There’s nothing we love more that seeing a great CSR in action, and sometimes we just can’t stop ourselves from letting the world know about a company making a difference.
It’s time for an NHS Global Events tip of the cap to Omni Hotels & Resorts for its “Say Goodnight to Hunger Program.”
Omni has paired with Feeding America to share meals with those in need. Feeding America is a nationwide network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal service programs that provide food and services to more than 42 million people each year.
Since 2016, through Feeding America, Omni has provided a meal to a family in need for each completed stay at any of its hotels and resorts. The meals directly benefits families in the 42 communities where Omni Hotels & Resorts properties are located.
But that wasn’t enough for Omni. Staring last summer and running through August, Omni has partnered with the PGA TOUR to create the “Birdie-or-Better” initiative to provide four meals to a family in need for every birdie-or-better made during each PGA TOUR event. When you consider that more than 60,000 birdies and eagles are recorded annually on the TOUR, that could mean around 240,000 meals.
“More than 40 million people in America struggle to put food on their tables,” said Matt Knott, president at Feeding America. “Through the Say Goodnight to Hunger campaign, Omni helps local food banks across our nation feed people in need. The addition of the ‘birdie promotion’ is yet another way Omni provides support to local communities.”
And that is how to create a great CSR with an incredible impact!
