Nashville Sings Louder Than Ever

Few places in the world have a more apt nickname. Nashville, Tennessee truly earns it’s moniker of Music City. Song just seems to emanate from its sidewalks and from the floorboards of the city’s honky-tonk bars. To say nothing of the Grand Ole Opry House (presently undergoing a $12 million expansion) and the historic Ryman Theater.

Then there are the museums that pay homage to many of the great Nashville stars of the past like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and George Jones.

And according to Allison Duke of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., if you haven’t visited Music City lately, you need to hurry back. “Nashville has undergone an incredible hotel boom and restaurant boom over the last few years,” she says.

In 2017, nine hotels with over 1,200 rooms opened in the city, including the Noelle, Holston House and 21c Museum Hotel. There are currently 5,000 hotel rooms under construction.

As for dining, almost 250 restaurant/bars have opened in the last three years. Three of them – Henrietta Red, Bastion and Martin’s BBQ SoBro were featured in Bon Appetit’s 50 Best New Restaurants 2017.

And here’s something you’d probably never guess about Nashville. It has a thriving fashion scene. According to Duke, Nashville has the largest per capita concentration of independent fashion companies outside of New York and L.A.

If you’ve got a group that enjoys music, eating and shopping, Nashville sounds just perfect for your next meeting or event.
