Hey, we get it. We’re in the hospitality industry and even we run into situations where we aren’t sure how to break the ice to get things rolling. Luckily, we have Business Operations Administrator Kinga Stefanska, a bundle of positive energy who has never met a room she couldn’t light up.
Borrowing from The Ritz-Carlton’s daily line-up concept, Kinga leads a weekly version at NHS Global Events every Monday morning. “At this meeting, we review objectives, our commitment to quality and department goals,” Kinga explains.
“We also recognize our colleagues for some outstanding accomplishment or contribution. “Then Kinga rolls out an open question for the team. “I will research or develop a question that everyone can engage with. It’s Monday morning and everyone is recouping from the weekend, so this is a way to jump start things.”
Kinga tries to find questions that mix professional and personal elements.”We try to find questions that get people to open up to their co-workers, get their wheels rolling and help us grow together as a team as we learn more about one another,” Kinga says. “The questions can be about your favorite movie, important attributes of your current position or the mood you’re in. Most importantly it gives us all a fresh start to the week.”
