Don’t Get the Budget Blues

You know the story. Your mission is to continue to provide your organization with the same top-quality meetings and events that you’ve become so admired for. Oh, and your budget is less this year.

Challenging? Yes. Difficult? You bet. Impossible? Really? You’re working with NHS Global Events and we will get you somewhere great and help you budget like a baller.

As Travel Insider writes, “Avoiding peak travel times means easier access to popular attractions and experiences, lower hotel rates and the increased availability of accommodation. Traveling during the shoulder season can offer a whole new perspective on some of the world’s coolest destinations.” Those include places like Napa Valley, California; Seoul; Paris; The Cotswolds in England; Amsterdam and Reykjavik.

To find the cheapest cities for off-season travel, MoneyGeek analyzed off-season airfare, hotel rates and restaurant dining costs for the 50 largest U.S. cities. Among their findings was that “western cities have some of the best airfare deals during the off-season. Texas and Oklahoma offer the most budget-friendly hotel options for vacationers in the off-season. Columbus, Ohio, presents an affordable option for fall travelers.” Their five cheapest cities for off-season travel in order were Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Columbus, San Francisco, and Denver.

Money Digest also listed their best U.S. destinations on a budget. They included St. Paul/Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Columbus, (again, Columbus!); Fargo, San Antonio, Washington, DC and Asheville.

Key to the World Travel offers these budget-stretching suggestions: “Visit Europe – especially Paris – in November or January through March. Enjoy off-season travel in the Caribbean in late April through early June. And plan a National Park vacation from September through May.”
