By the Numbers: Ratios Matter
We aren’t going to pretend that we have a staff full of Euclids or Fibonaccis at NHS Global Events. But we will proudly assert that we have a healthy respect for numbers and for identifying which digits are really important when planning your event.
“Getting a great rate and meeting a client’s budget is massively important,” NHS Global Events President Bill Lynch says. “But we also are incredibly cognizant of the ratio of employees to the number of rooms in a hotel and the ratio of employees to attendees of an event.”
Those ratios will be reflected in the room rate that a budget hotel will charge versus that of a luxury hotel. “But how does that translate into the service you’re going to receive when your event takes place and you’re entertaining top clients or your company’s board of directors?” Bill asks.
“Sometimes a rate looks really enticing, but then the property doesn’t have a conference or event department. That hotel is just in the business of selling rooms.”
This is one of those less than obvious details that NHS Global Events pays attention to on your behalf. When you have 500 people arriving for an event, we’ll have already discussed with you the level of attention your attendees demand. Ask your conference service manager the number of people who will serve your final night banquet.
“There will be occasions when the ratio of guests to staff can be higher” Bill offers. “But for those events that require more personal attention, we’ll ensure the correct ratio is attained.”
We’ve got no one working for us named Pythagoras or Bernoulli, but we do pay careful attention to the numbers that will make your next event exactly what you want it to be.
